BACK IN THE DAY

BACK IN THE DAY

The American Limousine has withstood the test of time. What was once used strictly for the rich and famous is now a part of almost every major event across the U.S. From weddings, proms, sporting events or the newly touted sweet sixteen parties, you will find a limousine involved in the activities in one way or another.

In actuality, the word “Limousine” originates from the French. Some of the first chauffeured limos where dated back to the early 1700’s. In a French province called “Limoges”, horse drawn carriages with a separate compartment for a driver sparked the idea. Known for their comfort and practicality, the limo concept flourished.  If they could only see what they have started!

SHAPES AND SIZES

The French may of started it but the Americans have stolen it. Limos nowadays are primarily found and manufactured in the U.S. Although limos are now found globally, in no way does the madness compare to the states. The American Limousine is a work of art. Built with thick steel and a wide array of different materials, limos today can be found in literally dozens of different makes and models. From your basic Lincoln Town Car limo to your more extravagant H2 Hummer limo, the amenities inside are amazing. Equipped with L.E.D. lighting, big screen TVs, disco floors and mega surround sound systems, you won’t believe the show. Who knows what the next generation of limos will provide. It all depends on what technology has in store for the future.
